conquering facebook addiction

Here’s what you do.

1. Open Notepad or Word or something like that.

2. Go crazy on your keyboard, typing out a nonsense word eg. hnfoiugyukdjbvjkd;jbak

3. Log into Facebook and go to the section in Account Settings where you can change your password.

4. No surprises, change your password to that nonsense word.

5. Save the password somewhere and when you absolutely have to access Facebook, paste nonsense word in to the password section to login.

This method for getting out from Facebook’s grasp is really location specific. It’s for people who want to stay off Facebook at work OR at home OR on your mobile device.

I found that not being able to log into Facebook from one location nipped the addiction in the bud. Having extended periods of time without Facebook killed the monkeymind desire to always be checking, checking, checking.

So when I am at home and CAN check Facebook, it’s more fun because there’s more content to see and feels less addictive because it’s in a contained space.

Let me know if this helps you out.
